Girls’ baseball has grown rapidly over the past two season, with strong participation across all age groups. Players enjoy weekly games and practices in a recreational setting, while those
seeking more challenge join tiered co-ed Little League play.
To expand opportunities, the Ottawa Patriots Baseball Club has connected with Gatineau Rapides Girls Baseball Club, which fielded all-female teams from 9U to 16U at both recreational and competitive levels this past season. Having a younger age group play a game or two against Gatineau will help spark stronger competition in the years ahead.
The Ottawa Patriots are not forming competitive teams at this time. This initiative is simply a
starting point, with the hope that a player “will pick up the ball” and participate at a competitive level.
The Ottawa Patriots are announcing it will be holding a tryout for girls born in 2014 and 2015 at Tauvette Park located at 2436 Innes Road in Blackburn Hamlet on Monday August 25th starting at 6pm. Participation is free. To register please us this form.
Game dates have not yet been decided but will begin September 6 or 7. For questions, please contact ottawapatriots@rogers.com
